To be fair, although there are general regional differences in facial features and such across East Asia, individuals vary an awful lot. One of my Chinese gfs is forever being mistaken for Japanese—sometimes by people who will speak Cantonese in front of here, assuming she can’t understand them. In casting, it’s believability that counts, not matching the character genetically.
