re: #425 thedopefishlives
You guys sure do spoil your feline overlords. My three only get dry food and the occasional (~2x a year) treat of meat scraps, potatoes, or whatever it is that each kitty is particularly fond of.
Mine subsisted on dry food and occasional scraps for years with wet food being a treat as well. With age and especially thyroid and/or kidney issues wet food becomes a preferred method to help keep them hydrated and as a medium to slip medicine in. I slipped over to that format about 5-6 years ago when I had elder cat and his brother and the brother had dehydration issues due to on-going loss of kidney function.
I also keep finding different foods they like. The younger cat considered an attack last night when I was eating a mix of chicken strips and roasted corn with cheese in a burrito wrap. All things she likes a great deal. The only thing that put her off was the hot sauce I had added as well.
And then there are biscuits. If I don’t guard those they are dragged onto the floor, slain, and consumed with gusto.
