Gotcha. My grand da used to tell me about his folks not being allowed to speak Gaelic in public. He remembered a bit of what he learned at home, and being from the slums of Montreal he spoke some Yiddish and Italian as well.
My grandad tried to teach me some, but i was to young to appreciate it. All that sticks is his pet name for me—Omadaun.
