I spent some weeks in Huntington, WV, on business. Some of my new friends there invited me to go jet skiing on the Ohio with them. We headed down river from Huntington to South Point where the Big Sandy river joins the Ohio because the turbulence there enables some jumping and other stuff. Before we left the dock they advised me to do my best not to fall into the river and if I did fall to not swallow so much as a drop of the water. Seems the Big Sandy was notoriously toxic and it made the already polluted Ohio downright hazardous.
West Virginia is a beautiful state with some fine, good humored people. It’s a shame that the lack of jobs there leads to an anything goes state legislature.
