re: #412 Belafon

Democrats addressed the lack of jobs, the need for education. Democrats have pointed out for years that you can’t make a church perform a wedding it does not want to do. Democrats point out that blacks and gays weren’t trying to get any special privileges, they just wanted to be treated any suggestions equals.

What Democrats didn’t do was tell conservatives that blacks would go away and that we’d promise to never elect a black president again.

I would recommend reading Mr. Wright’s article.

In plain conversations between voters, for example, how many times have you seen a liberal argue “well, we should tax the churches.”

We know that isn’t going to happen. However, in every church where there are people who are exactly afraid of that, all those voters are going to go for the GOP.

How many times did Hillary Clinton walk into a church and say “we’re not going to force you to marry gays if you don’t want?” None. Not once. Never mind the government can’t do that anyway, voters believe they might.

Mr. Wright addresses the voters who voted from fear (they’re coming for my guns, to destroy my church, &c), and the fact that under our Constitution, square miles actually do matter.

Three million more people voted for Hillary Clinton. In a direct democracy, she would be President.

But this isn’t a direct democracy.
