My dad is pulling for Jim Ryan for family reasons. Whats your take on him?

He’s good. I haven’t heard him speak much. He didn’t go to the debate I attended. Two term attorney general, no real controversy or anything. The only problem he may run into is the last name. We have some pretty notorious “Ryans” in our state history. It sounds silly to say, but some may confuse him with Jack Ryan, or connect him with George Ryan. In fact, I read a Sun-Times article that said exactly that; some people thought he was the kinky guy that ran against Obama. But I think that he has a better chance in the general than McKenna, based on previous experience.

Funny side note, in 1990, he lost to Roland Burris in the AG election. Awkward!

I don’t know what will happen with Gov, but this is the best climate for the GOP in a decade. We’ll have to wait and see I guess.

Well, I have to be up in five hours to drive my uncle to the airport. He’s going to Florida. Bastard.
