My doctor’s office does not perform mammograms, they write a referral and I take it to the cancer center of a local hospital.

Those boob squashing machines are expensive and not every clinic can afford to maintain one so they send referrals to a big center that specializes in boob squashing.

Stupid question: Is a written referral required by the insurance company?
