Me too, sometimes. The very best, however, was when I had exploratory surgery nearly four years ago, which confirmed a diagnosis of GCA (don’t ask). When I went to have the stitches removed, this lovely conversation happened:
Doctor: Hmmm, most people don’t get this till they’re in the mid-60s.
Me: I’m 65.
To this there was no answer and I restrained myself from laughing till I got outside.
