Bravo! Once minor correction: 80’s music as a whole suuucked. There are a few exceptions like Talking Heads, maybe a few Devo songs but new wave was garbage.
Au contraire. If it was concept albums one wanted, that era was well & truly past. But it was a great decade for light, throwaway singles. Who really needs to sit through a bunch of cerebral REM albums, when you can dig into a nice chocolatey box of these?:
