No—what you describe is the scientific view of the world, not the religious one. Nothing that was divinely known was ever learned. It was dogmatically taught. The first theorist positing the idea of the big bang was a catholic priest. When presented to the church, his superiors inquired if we should be teaching this as catholic dogma.
