To me, Ben Carson is the very definition of a human paradox in my mind. You’ve got to have a pretty nimble mind to have a career like Ben Carson did. Before he ever opened his mouth in the political arena, he was respected by everybody. Ta-Nehisi Coates has written quite warmly about Dr. Carson, as he grew up in Baltimore and Ben Carson was the embodiment of a black person succeeding against long odds in Baltimore during Coates’ youth. Now that he’s inexplicably running for President of the United States, he’s alienated Coates and probably countless other black people with his alignment with the GOP.

Oh, he’s also alienated people who actually use their brains, which he specializes in fixing. Hence the paradox.
