Maryland, My Maryland:

Hillary Clinton is well positioned to win Maryland’s Democratic primary election next week, according to a new poll that shows her holding big leads with every voting group in the state.

A Monmouth University survey shows that 57 percent of likely Democratic voters support Mrs. Clinton in Maryland while just 32 percent back Senator Bernie Sanders, her opponent for the party’s nomination. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 6 percentage points.

Not really surprising. More like a Southern state demographically.

The same Monmouth poll also shows Van Hollen with a 52-36 lead over Edwards for the Senate seat being vacated by Barb Mikulski. Edwards had been leading in the Senate primary.

On another note, I received my Maryland sample ballot last week. Weirdly, it allows me to vote for Sanders or Clinton directly, then offers me a selection of candidates for convention delegate identified by candidate. So, I could vote for HRC while voting for Sanders convention delegates. Or visa versa. Hadn’t noticed this before.
