The Budget with No Numbers

re: #15 Emerald

It’s really starting to look like we need a viable third party in this country. Both the major ones are filled with knuckleheads. The economy is in chaos, the majority is realizing Obama and Congress have no way to fix it, and this is the best the Republicans could come up with? They’re blowing opportunity after opportunity.

There’s no time and no real chance with a third party. Elections cost too much money that third parties won’t have for many years to come. The only way the GOP can be fixed IMO is from the inside and at the local level.

We might get lucky and win some Congressional races and even, perhaps, a majority. But that is not enough. There needs to be a fundamental change in thinking in the Republican party towards fiscal sanity that will dominate the party in 10 or so years when the local politicians mature and run in the big races.

I like to think that the ‘94 class were all inspired by Reagan and first got involved during his Presidency. There is a gestation period.
