A chocolate cream soda, as you use to get in a soda shop, was a combination of chocolate syrup, carbonated water and sometimes a egg yolk to thicken it. When made with the egg yolk, it was commonly call an egg cream soda.

I remember the Rexall’s near my house made those. I was thinking of a mass-produced product.
