NYT: Gaza Through Fresh Eyes

And NPR had a radio broadcast this past weekend detailing all the items that were not available in Gaza… coriander and other stuff… I don’t pay real close attention when NPR is on, so I don’t know the show or reporter(s)… maybe someone else heard it.

So… who is spinning all this… NPR, NYT, conservatives, Israel, Hamas… it gets deeper than hog shit at a stockyard.

That’s been a popular talking point (that the evil Israelis, who aren’t allowing “luxury items” like coriander and other spices into Gaza, are causing unnecessary suffering), and I recently read somewhere that the “list” of items was actually a list of items that was deduced as having been banned, from interviews with private shop owners in Gaza.

In other words, if no Gaza shop had a specific spice, this Human Rights Organization listed it as “banned” and circulated that list.
