He is the boss. Make no bones about it. BHO is the boss.

My guess is that his advisers are telling him that Vilsack was “right,” that it doesn’t matter whether the initial reaction was wrong or not, they can’t be seen as “condoning” racism and so “requesting” her resignation was the “right” thing to do.
