The question I always pose to people who call the Nazis leftist becuase of the “socialist” in National Socialist is “So, North Korea and East Germany are democratic too? For crying out loud, the Socialists and Communists in Germany in the run off for chancellor supported Hindenburg over Hitler. Hindenburg who was as much a product of the old system as you can find.

The old style of Soviet and Chinese Communists were notoriously anti-gay. There are still large remnants of this in Russia and China is hardly open towards the gay community. Cuba being another. Islamic states in the middle east are hardly liberal.
