I had an incident where I was tagging along on a friend’s date; she wanted me to meet him. I had my own designs, of course.

I suggested she go and get a booth (we’d been sitting at the bar) after he went down the gents’ room. She left, and I called the barkeep over.

I said, it was none of my business, and I didn’t want to get involved, but the guy just coming out of the bathroom over there (his timing was perfect) has been swiping tips off the bar.

A thing of beauty it was.
