Is creationism a widespread belief in Judaism? And if it’s not shouldn’t Christians take a hint? I mean it’s their ancient creation story after all. If they don’t take it literally aren’t they the best people to judge?

Not at all… Jews are a sciencey people.

Plus we have pretty good reading comprehension. We’ve noticed that the Book of Genesis has two creation narratives, wherein things don’t happen in the same order, things aren’t done by the methods, we take that as a big fat blinking neon sign that the reader isn’t intended to take either narrative as a literal factual recounting.
