Kind of stupid to be talking about pitting an F-35 against an Su-37 or Mig-29. Should have just kept the F-22 program open since it can blow the doors off an F-35.

The F-35 is designed to be a strike aircraft, not an air superiority fighter. It’s being shoehorned into the role and it does not compare favorably in speed or agility. For air superiority, choose a -15; despite its age, it’s fast and nimble and, more to the point, built entirely for the mission of air-to-air combat. Strike fighters are A-10’s with the ability to not be hopelessly outclassed if they get bounced.
