Saw this comment on a Battle of Britain doc at Amazon today.

“It was such a serious and definitive time for Britain that even the politicians were sincere.”

Yikes! Now that’s serious. No wonder it was their “finest hour.”

The flip side to that is the depressing fact that if we get Adolf Hitler v2.0 in a major European power, just about everyone in the Republican party would be an enthusiastic supporter.
