So was air travel in the beginning; now we take it for granted sometimes.
Air travel by onsies and twosies was a hobby thing… Later, it is true, the early commercial flights depended upon the rich.
The big difference, and it is big, is the amount of energy it takes to go from A to B as one increases altitude. The gravity well of the Earth, while puny by cosmic standards, is too costly for us small organic units. It’s just too big.
