re: #432 stabby

You might want to reread #178

I described how fear of disbelief restructures the mind.

This is the thing, Stabby. You’re just some guy. These are theories you have, and you treat them as though they’re established fact. These are tenuous, often contradictory theories.

If few people think that members of other religions go to hell (I don’t remember if he included atheists), then it’s implied that few people think that disbelieving their doctrine dangerous and fearful.

But what are you basing this belief on? Who is ‘he’? What is this poll?

However consider the mechanism he stated. He said that Americans can not believe that God will damn members of other religions because most people have a close friend or even family members who don’t share their religion. They don’t believe gays are damned because most people are related to a gay person or have a gay friend…

Congrats, again, on disproving the supposed link between religion and/or belief in hell and intolerance and showing that belief in hell is not correlated with being a wingnut?

Can you not recognize that you’re dismantling your own argument?
