I have a question that is something of a long shot. Has anyone in the media or academe tried to measure and compare the nuttery of different presidents’ demonstrators?

It’s easy to just say the Obama-Hitler and gun nut threats are bad. We all agree on that (here at LGF). We all have anecdotal memory of Bush-Hitler signs for 8 years. I have missing karma for repeatedly making the case “meh - seen it all before”. I would rather be definitively proven right or wrong - with data - than keep arguing.

Surely, some political science prof has found every “current guy = Hitler” photo on Google and counted them up? Or counted the number of arrests made at demonstrations where the sitting president is speaking? Or counted the average # interruptions in Congress? Or during presidential addresses? It’s hard to quantify, but I’ve seen more difficult questions measured and answered. Until then, it’s the battle of the anecdotes.
