Folks, this business about Obama calling the Constitution a document of “negative liberties” is being overblown.

What this means is that the Constitution doesn’t outline all the liberties of the American people— it proscribes certain efforts a gov’t might make to infringe some liberties. (like taking away arms, taking away religious freedom)

The default setting is that all Americans have all liberties, even the ones not explicitly mentioned in the Constitution.

He also lamented that the Constitution does not address Economic Justice which means Reditribution of Wealth.
I know that he is considered a Constitutional scholar in some quarters, but to me he shows a misunderstanding of the intent of the framers.
