It’s not a matter of arguing your case, going on a talk show is about appearing to win the argument while looking good on television. No matter what Mitt Romney said or how well he did, he’d be attacked and those attacks would be used to create DNC talking points to be aimed against him. There’s no realistic way for him to look good in that setting.

FWIW, I agree with you. I wonder why he accepted in the first place…
