The White House staff probably can’t even manipulate their internal polls enough to soothe his fragile ego.

Someone needs to sit him down and explain, “You’re gonna get your ass handed to you. Seriously, Mr. President, this is gonna be a whuppin’ that’s gonna go down in the history books. Your name is going to be up there with Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis. You’re going to the shit kicked out of you, and there’s nothing you can do, nothing you can say, that will prevent that. Your presidency is over, for all intents and purposes and you have no one to blame but yourself.”

Of course, I’m almost 100% sure that no one, not even Ivanka, has the guts to do it.
