But here’s a vision. Between Miami and Grand Bahama, there flows a river of warm water at around 2 MPH. It doesn’t depend on the sun. It doesn’t depend on the wind. It contains the potential of terawatts of energy. We harness hydro power for a fair amount of energy in the western US. Why isn’t Exxon putting dollars into harvesting that energy source?
Assuming that the factual basis for what you’re saying is true; you realize, of course, that “cap and trade” does absolutely nothing to directly address the problem you’re referring to?
Want more government research? Great. Lobby for that. But not for a punitive tax on the energy sources that we know work now.
I’ll repeat this quote again: It’s not like government caused the personal computer to be invented by imposing punitive taxes on typewriters.
