This is where liberals and libertarians split. What people do with their lives is their business. Unless it directly affects me I don’t see where I have the right or obligation to stick my nose into their business, family or not.
If you think it’s your obligation to insist your family members behave in a certain manner do you feel the same about your close friends? What about just your casual friends, do they deserve your input too? Where does it stop exactly? Where do people, who probably really believe they’re trying to do the right thing, draw the line? My line starts where my toes end, it’s easier to keep track of things that way.
