You are correct, of course. Total agreement is never going to happen. I guess what makes me most crazy is the number of conservatives who say that their overriding concerns are the deficit/big spending while saying they are socially liberal and environmentally concerned and still vote Republican. It seems to me a total disconnect from reality.

lemme make your head explode:
I’m socially conservative.
I’m environmentally concerned.
I do worry about spending/deficits (no matter who’s bringing them on us).
I want gov’t out of the way, so we can each live as liberally or as conservatively as we wish.

I will vote R or D, depending.
