They’ll only start to worry when Trump becomes a threat to their personal power.

It’s telling that they don’t consider the current situation that threat.

Now ask why… that’s what media outlets need to be investigating the hell out of right now.

In an ordinary situation where a leader is toxic and poses an existential threat to the party, let alone the nation, you’d force a resignation but there’s no effort here to do that.

So what’s going on? The base loves Trump and his reactionary know nothing bigotry hate, and policies that further the hate. The leaders that would move him to resign are keyed to this, so they wont act.

And by the time it’s clear that they have to act, it’ll be too late to have an alternative.

Not that I mind that outcome - the GOP is irredeemable.
