People trying to immigrate to the US don’t have 1st Amendment protections till they actually come here. It does not violate the Constitution to tell a non-resident alien “We don’t like your religion, so you can’t live here.”

Yes, it does. The 1st Amendment prohibits the government from enacting laws and policies respecting an establishment of religion. What you’re describing is a grotesque violation of that principal.
