Democratic fatcats like FDR and the Kennedys, and even pre-Reagan Republicans, understood a cold fact to which today’s Republicans are utterly oblivious: It is a bad idea to live in wealth and luxury while working people starve, die of preventable diseases, and live in refrigerator crates. RWNJ propaganda has done a good job of conning the marks but it’s very risky, a potentially fatal hubris, to assume that you can fool them indefinitely.

Especially since the people they are conning are essentially armed to the nth degree. Ya know, moron lube and all that.
