There’s something really horrible about her statement. I know it’s funny, but it reminds me a lot of the people who insist that waterboarding is no big deal. Not making an honest argument for why these things should be used, but pretending coyly that they don’t understand what the problem might be.

“They poured boiling oil on him.”

“Hey, boiling oil is used to make French fries! Doesn’t everyone like French fries? What’s the problem?”
