So, we should have no army? If we have a president, we have someone who sometimes has the power of life and death. That’s the nature of being commander in chief. Sorry, Steve, but that’s the way it is. No use resenting it.

I think Steve points to Afghanistan as a special case. A death trap, a no win boondoggle. In that he may have a point. Iraq was worse, Vietnam was worse, but I cant argue that he is not right about Afghanistan.

Still doesn’t make much sense in the context of Rick Perry and the death penalty.
