That’s something I’ve long noticed/suspected among my real life Lib friends/acquaintances. They simply refuse to listen to anything that doesn’t conform to their pre-existing notions. I’m sure there are exceptions, but I find close-mindedness to be the rule.

Those on the left can’t tolerate examination of their ideas, as the break down their core values, their world view challenged, and that can be very unsettling if you don’t have a solid set of core values.
