Thing is, you go into a place and ask to talk to the hiring manager and they tell you to either go to their handy dandy in store job application kiosk or go home and fill out an application and they’ll get back to you. That’s how it is now unless you go to a small independent business and fill out a physical job app. Trust me, I’ve been at this for nearly 3 yrs now. I have filled out more than one application for the same place. I go in and try to talk to people. I’m not a person who gives up easy, but this shit is ridiculous.

The thing is, they just don’t care about the individual and your accomlishments. Every corp uses online apps now (and “tests”, too), and you have to keep going back, time after time, to the individual stores. I know people who have done it, currently, and sometimes, you just have to be there on a particular day when they really need the help.

I couldn’t believe what my grandson had to go through just to get a job at Burger King.

Gone are the days when you could just go in and make a good impression without all the rigmarole.
