Long ago, on this very board, I used to make the statement that creationists are mentally ill.

Used to get downdinged for that.

At some point, I assert, we need to call out fantasies for what they are.

The likes of Pence participate in a group delusion (note - all religions are human creations and like everything we invent, we create them to fill some need.)

It’s part of being human - creating things.

Yet when we think our inventions, save for some sort of AI (yet to be achieved and no, Alexa doesn’t count), are talking back to us, then we’re clearly deluding ourselves.

I know that religious impulses are universal among humans.

To misconstrue these feelings as someone speaking to you is the essence of many religious teachings.

And they are all delusions.
