Some documents associated with very early Christianity take a different view. See The Gnostic Gospels, by Elaine Pagels, for details on these and other ancient documents.

As far as I know, the Bible is pretty much silent on God’s provenance. It never claims an origin for Him, but neither does it explicitly say there wasn’t one. It is much more concerned with God’s relationship to mankind, which is pretty much where the story starts off after a very short preamble.
