re: #419 FemNaziBitch

Because, in theory, a Military Base is a controlled situation. The streets of America are not, by law.

And again…to the point…a controlled situation that has now two times gotten out of control.

What I am trying to get at is are any of us safer with the NRA in its current form and with more and more guns in circulation? If soldiers trained in there use are cautioned and controlled not to have them and stuff like yesterday happens, then how can the uncontrolled streets of America be safe.

And I want to add, I have no problem with guns per say. My father and brothers were all hunters. I’ve been around guns and shot them a few times myself. I grew up and live in areas that most white folk would be fearful in due to bigoted and cliched thinking, and have gotten by without guns.

Where I have problems is with the current NRA and the monster I think they have created for all of us. Through their politic campaigns and what I feel is over-the-top rhetoric they are hurting this country. And that is so sad for an organization that was originally founded to be an education group. An education group that you would think would be out preventing what I think they are creating.

This country needs a real gun education policy that gets to the facts of where we are in 2014. It needs politicians that stand up for my right not to be fearful of some nut going off. For so many of my nearly 60 years I never worried about guns. For the last ten, I can’t say I feel safe with all the guns around. Where the hell are my rights?

I hate to say this, but would there be change if say a gun supporter type politician of even Wayne LaPierre himself were gunned down in a public shooting? I am not asking for that to happen, but what is it going to take to get some real-world, critical thinking about where we are with guns?

I see there is a new thread going…but oh well…I still wanted to get this in.
