Oh, by the way, Rick Perry is running for President in 2012. Don’t doubt that everything he has done for the past eight years is pointed toward that goal.

Quite plausible, he’s already been Gov. for 10 years; does he really want 4 more?

But being Bush’s successor as Gov. is one of those things the base loves, but probably turns off a lot of indies and moderates.

And then there’s the stuff about secession and creationism and governing farther to the right than even W, none of which helps in a general election.
