Oh, and the flow point is the point where the metal starts to lose structural strength even before it melts. Obviously you don’t want to actually *doing* something at this point, because you might lose your experiment since the platinum wire oozes off the hook or something along those lines.
In general, white light being emitted indicates you’re close to if not above 1500 degrees Celsius. Most gold melts before then. :)
