Just thought I’d mention again how good the economy is doing. It was reported today that there were only 258k new unemployment claims last week, the 86th consecutive week below 300,000, the first time that has happened since 1970. And since the work force is much larger now than it was nearly a half century ago, that means American workers are enjoying an unprecedented level of job security. Last month was also the 72nd consecutive month of job creation; that’s six years since the last time the US had a net job loss in a month, back in September 2010. And of course it was recently reported that America’s full-time workers got a 3% raise over the last year, giving them a record high median weekly wage. As usual, the economy grows when Democrats are in the White House.
