No. I was actually curious if there was any mention of it in the article. As stated, I will go read it when I have some time later today.
Let’s consider that corporate America ‘lost’ a bunch of income in the recession. What does corporate America do then? They lay people off.

Some do, some don’t. To the credit of the company I work for they didn’t. They did halt some projects that were on the table prior to 2008 and some capital upgrades, opting instead for us to make do with some older equipment fixes for the interim. They are just now getting back to operating expenses prior to the slowdown.

When common people lose a bunch of income they don’t have anybody to lay off.

Sadly, thats true.

The corps under consideration are the top 500. Companies that lost money won’t be found in that bunch.
