French news. This morning French polls gave 25% both to the combined left (Hamon + Melanchon) and Le Pen, 22% Fillon (right), 21% Macron. Whoever goes to the second round still trounces Le Pen by 20 points. If the Left can confirm its turn towards the real Left and paper over personality differences, they have a shot. Time will tell.

If we are lucky, all the EU countries pending votes will see Brexit and Trump as cautionary tales. I am worried about Germany since Putin and Bannon are involving themselves. I hope Germans are smarter than we were. I hope they see what is happening here as something they do not want. I have hope.
