I note that you think “Islamists” is an automatic synonym for “terrorists.” The fact is that the ideological views of today’s conservative movement are indistinguishable in many ways from the ideology of Islamism — deeply reactionary, illiberal, opposed to women’s rights, in love with violence as a solution to political problems, I could go on and on.

You could go on and on, but DF is right, today’s RW does not behead anybody or hold public executions. So they only compare on 12 of 16 or so components.

Except for George Tiller, the Oklahoma City bombing, and a completely irrelevant ‘lone wolf’ shooting every year or so, they’re not killing anybody. Or too many people.
