It’s worth noting that David Kassick was white and almost 60, which is likely why charges were filed in this case (Kassick can’t be called a ‘young punk’ or a ‘thug’). But still it appears Officer Mearkle likely fired her gun when she did not need to do so, and that justifies a homicide charge.

Good, I do have my doubts if she would have been charged if the man had been younger and black but this was worthy of a murder charge and I am glad she’s not skating just because she’s a cop.
