You know, amazingly enough, countries with smaller economies manage to provide larger populations with universal single-payer healthcare, somehow.
California is not a country. It’s a state, that is economically and politically connected to other states. When California tries to redo it’s health care, it will be affected by, and affect, every other state.
If we had the political will to redo our health care, we could change it. But, since we’re so invested in our current system, there would be a huge up front cost.
