This speech follows the normal pattern for the Obama administration: give people a blank slate so they may project whatever they believe onto it.

I know Inauguration speeches aren’t like the State of the Union, so this is expected. I’m just saying that in this speech we can read our own wants into it.

I am still flinching, waiting for his first real decision that will show us where he will really stand on the issues of Terrorism, Israel v. Palestine, Energy Policy, Iraq and Iran.

We might have a hint on how Israel withrdrew from Hamasistan before the inauguration. Someday, maybe, we’ll find out what back-channel communications there were.
