Assad is the son of a dictator who thought that it is his destiny to remain in power and for the country to do his biddy. It’s what he grew up to be.

The same can be said of L’il Kim in North Korea. They inherited dictatorships and think they have every right to carry on as they do.

Funny thing is that Khadafi came to power in a coup. He knew the risks of letting others gain too much power, but in the end it was the people who decided enough was enough.

I’ve never thought that The Dentist had his heart in it. A reluctant dictator, if you will. His clan’s rule is that of a minority, much like the Hashemites in Jordan. These are tenuous regimes. It would not surprise me if Assad takes the money and runs, claiming that he was forced out by the military, which were the real “deciders” and really calling the shots.
